> We deburr laser and bent parts on request: by machine up to 250 mm part width, wider parts by hand. Choose it in the configurator and see the surcharge immediately.

Additional service for laser and bent parts

Cutting and punching leave a fine burr on the edge. We remove it on request. That way you can handle the part safely and it sits cleanly during assembly.

## Two methods

By machine in a continuous pass **up to 250 mm part width** *The narrow side of the flat pattern is measured. The part runs lengthwise through the machine.*

By hand **wider than 250 mm** *Wider parts do not fit through the machine. We then carry out the requested deburring by hand.*

## When is deburring worthwhile?

- Parts that are handled Handles, panels, cladding: without a burr there are no cuts to the hands.
- Visible parts Furniture, interiors, architecture: the edge looks clean and even.
- Before coating Paint and powder adhere better to a deburred edge than to a sharp burr.
- Small parts We hold small parts in the sheet with micro-joints. We remove the small tabs during deburring.

## How to order

- **Cut-to-size:** In the [cut-to-size configurator](https://mvg-frankfurt.de/en/configurator/cut-to-size), tick “Deburring”. It appears when the narrow side measures at most 250 mm.
- **Bent part:** In the [Bent part configurator](https://mvg-frankfurt.de/en/configurator/bent-parts), tick “Deburring”. It appears when the flat pattern is narrow enough.
- **Part designer and file upload:** The [Part designer](https://mvg-frankfurt.de/en/part-designer) shows whether your part is deburred by machine or by hand. For deburring, please send a review request. We will get back to you with a price.
- **Price:** You see the surcharge for deburring in the configurator on the part before you order.

## Design notes

- **Plan narrow parts.** If the narrow side measures at most 250 mm, we deburr by machine in a continuous pass.
- **State the visible side.** If one side will be visible later, write this in the note for the item.
- **Punched holes.** When punching, the burr is on the exit side of the tool. More on this: [Punch-laser combination](https://mvg-frankfurt.de/en/punch-laser-combination).
- **Deburring is not a brushed finish.** You choose brushed sheets in the material selection. That is also where you set the grain direction.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is deburring included in the price?**

No. You add deburring as an option. The configurator shows the surcharge on the part. See also [Prices](https://mvg-frankfurt.de/en/prices).

**Which materials do you deburr?**

The “Deburring” tick box is available for all sheets in the material selection of the cut-to-size and bent part configurators.

**Why is there lettering on my stainless steel part?**

Stainless steel sheets carry a mill marking with material and heat number. This is normal and links your part to the inspection certificate. The rolling mill determines where the marking sits on the sheet. Deburring or grinding weakens it, but it may still show through. You can remove the marking without residue using cellulose thinner and a clean cloth.
