Decades ago, IKEA turned furniture into a flat-pack kit. Today this goes one step further: at quantity 1. With Claude Code and models such as Opus, you design your piece of furniture yourself. You do not need to be a designer or a programmer.
Problem
The problem: the right piece of furniture is not for sale
The table should fit the alcove exactly. The shelf should follow the height of the sloping ceiling. Ready-made furniture only comes in fixed sizes, and custom pieces are expensive.
With designer furniture, you also often pay mainly for the brand and the retailer. Simple materials turn into expensive products.
Cause
The cause: design and production used to be expert knowledge
Until now, your own piece of furniture needed two things: CAD skills for the drawing and a workshop that makes one-off parts. Both were hard to get for private people and small workshops.
AI assistants such as Claude Code close the first gap. They work with free tools such as FreeCAD or Blender, create the 3D files and deliver a clear bill of materials. Our digital factory closes the second gap.
Remember: If you design it yourself and order the raw parts directly from the manufacturer, you pay for material and production, not for the middleman.
Solution
The solution: from idea to kit in four steps
This is how you get from a description to the finished piece of furniture:
- Describe the idea: tell the AI what you need, for example a table with a steel frame, 1.80 m long.
- Let it design: Claude Code uses FreeCAD or Blender to create the 3D files and a bill of materials. For production we need STEP for 3D parts and DXF for flat laser parts.
- Order the parts: upload the files to us. Laser parts, cut-to-size parts and bent parts get a price immediately.
- Assemble: we make and deliver the parts, and you assemble the furniture at home.
In practice
What our digital factory offers for this
We calculate and make the parts from the bill of materials directly, without a middleman:
- Quantity: from one part, no minimum order quantity.
- Price: immediately, right after you upload the file.
- Materials: steel, stainless steel and aluminium as sheet, cut-to-size, laser and bent parts.
- Check: before you order, our manufacturability check shows what can still be improved.
Even more direct: Claude talks to our MCP server
Claude can connect directly to our factory. To do so, add our MCP server at https://mvg-frankfurt.de/mcp in Claude. For quotations and orders, you sign in once with your customer account. After that, the AI works with our data by itself during the conversation.
In one conversation, “Design a table for me” becomes a checked quotation with fixed prices. You order and pay yourself via the basket link.
- Query materials and rules: which sheets, thicknesses and formats are available? Which minimum dimensions apply to bending?
- Check parts: the assistant checks bent parts, cut-to-size parts and laser parts for manufacturability and gets suggested changes.
- Get price and delivery time: the AI fetches the instant price, the date and the shipping costs for your bill of materials.
- Create a quotation: once you are signed in, it creates a quotation with a basket link that you check and approve.
- Track the status: the AI shows the status of your order and offers proven parts for reordering.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need CAD skills?
No. The AI creates the files. You check the result and give feedback.
Which files do you accept?
STEP for 3D parts and DXF for flat laser parts. You can also upload AI and EPS files.
Can I order just one part?
Yes. We make parts from quantity 1, with no minimum order quantity.
Do I need an account for MCP access?
Not for materials, prices and the check. For quotations and your orders, you sign in with your customer account the first time you connect and allow access. You can withdraw this permission at any time.
