Get to know the materials
Alloys, properties and suitable applications for your component.
- Aluminium AlMgSi0.5 (EN AW-6060)The standard alloy for extruded profiles: easy to anodise, easy to weld, corrosion-resistant.
- Aluminium AlCuMgPb (EN AW-2007)Free-machining alloy: the first choice for heavy machining, but not weldable and less corrosion-resistant.
- Aluminium AlMgSi1 (EN AW-6082)The strong structural alloy: about one and a half times as strong as AlMgSi0.5 (T6 versus T66), also weldable.
- Aluminium AlZnMgCu1.5 (EN AW-7075)Highest-strength aluminium: strength in the range of structural steel at a third of the weight.
- Stainless steel 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10, V2A)The standard stainless steel: rust-free, easy to form, easy to weld, food-safe.
- Stainless steel 1.4305 (X8CrNiS18-9)The free-machining stainless steel: excellent to machine, but not for welding and slightly less resistant.
- Stainless steel 1.4307 (X2CrNi18-9, 304L)The low-carbon version of 1.4301: same applications, better for welded structures.
- Stainless steel 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2, V4A)The acid- and chloride-resistant stainless steel: for road salt, coast, swimming pools and chemicals.
- Brass Ms58 (CuZn39Pb3)Free-machining brass: the material for turned parts, fittings and anything with a thread.
- Brass Ms63 (CuZn37)The formable brass: for bending, deep drawing and soldering.
- Copper E-Cu (Cu-ETP)Electrolytic copper: the conductor material with the highest electrical conductivity after silver.
- Copper SF-Cu (Cu-DHP)Installation copper: oxygen-free, therefore weldable and solderable without hydrogen embrittlement.
- Gunmetal Rg7 (CuSn7ZnPb)The bearing material: good emergency running properties, seawater-resistant, easy to machine.
- Steel S235JR hot-rolledStructural steel as a semi-finished product: low-cost, weldable, universal, but not rust-free.
