Copper SF-Cu (Cu-DHP)

Installation copper: oxygen-free, therefore weldable and solderable without hydrogen embrittlement.

Material groupCopper
Standard / designationCu-DHP (CW024A) to DIN EN 1057/12449
Density8.9 kg/dm³

SF-Cu is deoxidised with phosphorus, so it does not become brittle during soldering and welding. That is why pipework in buildings is made from it. Its electrical conductivity is slightly below that of E-Cu.

Shapes in Copper SF-Cu (Cu-DHP)

Properties

  • Very easy to solder and weld, no hydrogen embrittlement
  • Electrical conductivity approx. 45 to 50 m/(Ω·mm²)
  • Very good cold formability and bendability
  • Resistant to drinking water, heating water and weather
  • Suitable for drinking water to DIN EN 1057

Typical applications

  • Pipework for drinking and heating water
  • Refrigeration and air-conditioning technology
  • Gutters, claddings, crafts

Processing notes

Cut tubes with a pipe cutter or a fine-toothed blade and deburr the inside, otherwise the burr disturbs the flow and the soldered joint.
