1.4307 is 1.4301 with less carbon. Hardly any chromium carbides form during welding, so the weld seam stays resistant to intergranular corrosion even without post-treatment. Welded structural tubes are therefore often made from 1.4307. We supply it as a brushed structural tube.

Properties
- Tensile strength 500 to 700 N/mm², yield strength at least 175 N/mm²
- Low carbon: insensitive to intergranular corrosion after welding
- Corrosion resistance like 1.4301, not for chlorides
- Austenitic, practically non-magnetic
Typical applications
- Railings and visible structures from welded tubes
- Apparatus, vessel and plant construction
- Food and kitchen areas
Processing notes
Machine like 1.4301: saw slowly, cool well and only use tools that have never touched mild steel.
