Distinguish inside and outside dimensions
State whether length, width and height are inside or outside dimensions. Sheet thickness and bend radius affect the usable inside area. For a cover, it also matters which counterpart has to fit underneath.
The corners are part of the design
For the sides to be folded up, the blank needs suitable corner reliefs. A bent tray with open or merely touching corners is not automatically liquid-tight. If tightness is required, the design must be agreed separately.
State the intended use openly
Describe whether the tray is to serve as a cover, a surround or a container. Liquids, heat, food contact and load-bearing applications place additional requirements. A material designation or a suitable shape alone does not confirm this suitability.
From model to check
If you already have a 3D model, upload the STEP file for checking. For an enquiry, a clearly dimensioned sketch with the desired material and quantity is also enough. The manufacturability of all sides and corners must be checked on the specific part.
At a glance
