Frequently asked questions
Why 1.4016 and not normal stainless steel?
The usual stainless steel 1.4301 (V2A) is hardly magnetic; magnets slide off. 1.4016 is a ferritic stainless steel and magnetic. Magnets hold securely on it.
How do I fix the magnetic board?
The easiest way is to bond the board over its full area with construction adhesive to the wall or a wooden board. Alternatively, add holes in the corners in the part designer and screw the board on.
Which thickness is right?
1 mm is sufficient for boards that you bond. For freely mounted boards with holes, choose 1.5 or 2 mm; the surface then stays stiffer.
