Order by material number
V2A and V4A are used as generic names. For a clearly specified part, state the material number, for example the 1.4301 or 1.4404 required in your drawing, as well as the desired surface finish.
Describe the environment
Moisture, chlorides, temperature and cleaning agents affect the requirements for stainless steel. The term stainless does not mean that every stainless steel product is suitable for every environment. Please state any special exposure in your enquiry.
Consider processing and surface finish
Welding, grinding and cleaning of the finished component can be relevant for the application. Visible surfaces and protected sides should be marked in the drawing or enquiry.
Check the requirements on the actual part
For swimming pools, food contact or load-bearing applications, a general online recommendation is not enough. Use the project-specific material specification and clarify the required certificates before ordering.
