Material

DX51D+Z275 is a soft, cold-rolled forming steel that is coated with zinc on both sides in the Sendzimir process (continuous hot-dip galvanising), 275 g/m² in total, about 20 µm per side. The thin sheet is very easy to bend and needs no further coating. That makes it the usual material for covers and cladding that stand outdoors or in damp surroundings.

Key data
DesignationDX51D+Z275 (1.0226), hot-dip galvanised to DIN EN 10346
Density7.85 kg/dm³
Thicknesses0.75, 0.8, 1, 1.5, 2, 3 mm
Surface finishZinc layer with its typical sheen, sometimes with spangle. The steel is exposed at the cut edges, where the cathodic protection of the adjacent zinc takes effect.

Tolerances

We cut rectangular blanks on the guillotine shear. DIN ISO 2768-m applies to length and width; the cut edge is sheared, and a slight roll-over and a burr are normal in production. Details: Tolerances.
