Properties and data sheet
- Designation
- 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) to DIN EN 10088-2, brushed on one side, grit 240
- Density
- 8 kg/dm³
- Thicknesses
- 2, 2.5 mm
- Processing
- Laser cutting, bending, deburring
Identical in material to 1.4571, but with a brushed surface on one side (grit 240). The sheet thus combines the chloride resistance of molybdenum-bearing stainless steel with an even visible surface – for visible parts in environments where 1.4301 reaches its limits.
Properties
- Brushed on one side with grit 240, directional brushed surface
- About 2 % molybdenum: resistant to pitting from chlorides
- Titanium-stabilised, therefore insensitive to intergranular corrosion after welding
- Work-hardens during forming and springs back more than steel when bent
Surface finish
Brushed on one side (grit 240); the back is not brushed. The grain direction matters for the design: please keep it in mind for multi-part assemblies.

Design rules and bending
Bending as for 1.4571: because of springback, the inside radius is larger than with structural steel. For visible parts the brushed side is on the outside; you choose the visible side in the configurator.
| Thickness | Minimum flange | Inside radius | Hole to bend edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 mm | 12.1 mm | 3.8 mm | 9.7 mm |
| 2.5 mm | 12.3 mm | 3.8 mm | 9.7 mm |

Cutting methods and tolerances
We cut rectangular blanks on the guillotine shear. DIN ISO 2768-m applies to length and width; the cut edge is sheared, and a slight roll-over and a burr are normal in production. We laser-cut parts with cut-outs, holes or free contours.
Typical applications and bent parts
- Visible components at the coast, in swimming pools and in areas with de-icing salt
- Outdoor trims and covers
- Food and catering sector where appearance matters

Questions
Is 1.4571 V4A or AISI 316Ti?
Yes. 1.4571 (V4A) corresponds to AISI 316Ti. Sheet to EN 10088-2.
Which surfaces are available online?
2B, brushed K240. Further versions on quotation in the Sheet metal range.
Is an inspection certificate 3.1 available?
Yes, if a certificate to EN 10204 is on file for the material: as an option in the basket, €15 net per order.
Why is there lettering on my stainless steel part?
Stainless steel sheets carry a mill marking with material and heat number. This is normal and links your part to the inspection certificate. The rolling mill determines where the marking sits on the sheet. Deburring or grinding weakens it, but it may still show through. You can remove the marking without residue using cellulose thinner and a clean cloth.
